h1Perhaps the most unique feature of Bennett Studios is our fiber optic link to the 1,400 seat John Harms Theater, home to The Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) (bergenPAC). The connection to the theater is available in either the North or South control rooms. This underground connection provides 64 channels of audio, up to 8 channels of video, RS 232/422, and Clearcom communications from a panel located on the wing of the stage. This allows a high quality studio recording of live events or sessions being held at the theater. The mic panel can either be fed directly for recording only or split off the house system when recording live performance. Video cameras provide a line of sight to the control rooms to be displayed on 42" plasma displays in front of the consoles.
The connection is accomplished by use of the Adder 322 system installed at both locations. The 322 can send or receive either mic or line level signals, and being fiber, it is impervious to ground hum or radio interference (RF).There is also a covered slip, perfect for a video truck, located behind the theater that opens to the backstage area. With the addition of a video truck, the theater/studio connection can provide a very cost effective broadcast quality out put for musical or theatrical productions either pre-recorded or live. For information about the theater specifications go to: harms tech page.
