In the studio recently was JOY BECHTLER, lyric soprano (www.joybechtler.com) recording her solo debut album accompanied by guitarists Frederic Hand (http://www.frederichand.com/) and Scott Jackson Wiley (www.scottjacksonwiley.com), harpist Elaine Christy (www.christydavila.com/) and cellist Arthur Cook. As part of Bennett Studios Independent Artist Program, Joy put together a full album of Italian songs, French opera romances and Spanish seguidillas called Reimaginings. Dave Kowalski was at the helm of the NEVE VR.

Joy brings art songs out of concert halls to fresh, lively places. Her recordings take elegant songs on a picnic or to a party. Or anywhere music and laughter blend. "Joy's love for this music is clear in her sensitive interpretation of the text and vocal nuances . . . she insightfully brings out the unusual texts."—Nancy Plum, music critic for Town Topics.
