LARRY GELB and musicians Dick Oatts on reeds, Matt Wilson on drums, Cameron Brown on bass along with vocalist Amy Justman were in the NORTH ROOM recording an albums' worth of original Larry Gelb compositions.
Larry Gelb is a composer-lyricist, jazz pianist-teacher, and author. Aside from albums, he has written film scores, off-Broadway musicals, and the book The Geometry of Melody. The Larry Gelb Songbook Vol.1, also recorded at Bennett in September, has just been released and is available on cd baby.com. The recording includes 26 of Larry's show tunes and features Kelly J Grant from the Tony Award winning show "Company". Larrys new website imaginmusic.com will license all 800 of Mr.Gelb's songs.
